The Coffs Harbour Aboriginal Family Community Care
Centre Inc. is an Incorporated non-government community
based organisation, managed by a local committee elected
annually from the membership.
The Coffs Harbour Aboriginal Family Community Care
Centre Inc. services Coffs Harbour and surrounding towns,
south to Bowraville, west to Ebor and north to Corindi
Beach, encompassing 3 local government areas - Coffs
Harbour City Council, Bellingen Shire Council and Nambucca
Shire Council.
The Coffs Harbour Aboriginal Family Community Care
Centre Inc. is funded through the Department of Family
and Community Services (Federally) as a Aboriginal Indigenous
Chlid Care Agency (AICCA).

The philosophy of the organization is to provide a quality
service to Aboriginal people that enhances cultural
values and empowers the Aboriginal Community.
The service will provide in a sensitive, educative
and informed manner that will uterlize community consultation
in the decision making and planning processes.

That people who are frail, aged or with disabilities
can remain in their own home
That family or other primary caregivers are supported
in their role
That the agency operates in an effective, efficient
and accountable manner
The target group for Abcare fall into the following:
Aboriginal people who seek assistance in day-to-day
living
Aboriginal people who are frail, aged, or younger people
with disabilities who are at risk of premature or inappropriate
institutionalisation, and their carers.
The Management Committee of Coffs Harbour Aboriginal
Family Community Care Centre Incorporated Includes the:

The role of the committee is to manage the organisation
within the approved budget and in accordance with the
Coffs Harbour Aboriginal Family Community Care Centre
Inc. stated objectives, policies and procedures as determined
from time to time. The Coffs Harbour Aboriginal Family
Community Care Centre Inc. committee will make sure
at all times that it is fulfilling its role and responsibilities.
The Management Committee has Legal Responsibilities
to ensure that the Coffs Harbour Aboriginal Family Community
Care Centre Inc. operates in line with:
The constitution
The Associations Incorporation Act 1984 No. 143
The FACS Funding Agreement
Staff employment agreements are complied with, that
proper tax is deducted, and safe-working conditions
provided
The Coffs Harbour Aboriginal Family Community Care Centre
Inc. has adequate insurance cover
The service operates within relevant Federal, State
and Local Government laws and regulations
