Karen
Donnelly
Treasurer
Hi all. My name is Karen and I am the daughter of Delma
(secretary extraordinaire) and Errol Donnelly of Grafton.
Yes I know what you’re thinking but you can’t
help bad luck, and they do say you can choose your friends
but you can’t choose your family.
I have lived in the area for many years and I completed
my schooling locally at Toormina High School. Apart
from my family I am interested in all things to do with
health, wellbeing and fitness and go to the gym twice
a week and also do boxercise and walk and swim.
I have four children ranging in age from 4 through
to 14 years old. My two eldest daughters Hannah and
Marnie attend Orara High School, my son Ryan attends
Tyalla Public School and my baby girl Chloe goes to
Kulai Pre-School and is due to start big school next
year. I am also the partner (better half) of the famous
Brett Davis so some of you may know me from somewhere.
Since Hannah started school all those years ago I have
been very involved in the school, having worked in and
at one time supervised the Homework Centre at Tyalla
and also been involved in the tutoring programs and
NAIDOC WEEK activities, fundraising activities and various
other things over the years as I believe in giving the
kids all the support in their education as I can.
I have also been involved in my children’s sports
as the eldest girls have played basketball in the local
comps, as well as having played representative basketball
and Ryan has played soccer and the last two years he
has been playing in the Mini Rugby League competition.
I have been a committee member for only six months
and I have much to learn, but I believe I could be a
valuable member as I am enthusiastic, full of energy
(like my Mother) and committed to me and my family/children’s
future Aboriginal heritage not only as individuals but
as a member and contributor to the community in general. |
